GOP recommends Ed Norton as Derek Vinyard to replace Liz Cheney

1 min read

The Wyoming GOP today announced that Ed Norton, in character as Derek Vinyard will be replacing the ousted daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney as House Republican Conference chair.  Citing that Cheney was not far right enough, the GOP decided Norton’s character in the 1998 movie American History X would be more fitting in the role.  Some critics pointed out that Norton is a resident of Massachusetts and not Wyoming.

“It’s ok, Liz Cheney was from Virginia,” the GOP said in a statement.

Yet one or two Republicans were quick to point out that Norton played a fiction character in the movie and that Derek Vinyard is not actually a real person.

“That’s ok, too. Liz Cheney was pretty fake too,” the GOP said.
