New York City Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, after making calls to photographers, ice sculptors, string bands and videographer services realized that her wedding to Riley Roberts will cost more than most of her constituents in Queens makes in one year.
“When I heard an ice sculpture of Donald Trump covered in a strawberry sauce would cost $1,200, I began to start worrying about the cost and all of the flak I would get from creepy guys like Ted Cruz on Twitter,” AOC said.
The average Queens resident earns about $26,000 per year. So far, her wedding tally is hovering at around $45,000 and that’s before factoring in synthetic meat substitutions for her main courses for her guests.
